Seven ideas were pitched, covering varied topics such as education in developing countries, NGO operations, recycling and food waste, among others. The participants ranked their preferred ideas and teams were formed to work during the rest of the weekend. On Saturday morning Andrew McCarthy, our Design Thinking professor and innovator, kicked-off an intense day of ideation and problem solving activities.

Each team, composed by people of different professional backgrounds and nationalities, brought diverse perspectives to come up with a viable business case. A group of mentors, movers and shakers of the entrepreneurial space, made sure that each team had the vital elements to be ready to pitch in front of investors and entrepreneurship gurus on Sunday evening. Heroes of Light, TelSell, Bring it Out, NuCooked, Health Village, Kala and Yes! Presented their final work at the Impact Hub in the middle of joy and nervousness to hear the final result.

The jury decided 11174358_867462386654756_5263528387095970482_oto award Heroes of Light, an app to motivate the volunteer workforce using gamification, as the winner of the challenge.
