And the most common question that people ask there is “What is the Mind Games?” Well, as you may guess it is a game where you need to use your mind. A team of 6 people is asked a question and after a short time of discussion they need to figure out an answer. To answer the question players need nothing but the logic and the ability to communicate. So, how did this game come to IE?

This game was first introduced in 1975 on the Soviet television. Till now it’s been a popular TV show in CIS countries. Moreover, people around the world gather together to play this game. One of the club founders – Pavel – has been playing this game during 8 years. He won several competitions including the European Student Championship in 2013. And he decided to keep playing when he came to IE. His idea was that in this game like in a business environment people should learn how to collaborate in a team trying to solve various problems.

The very first Mind Game at IE was quite a challenging one for both sides club and players. Club’s coordinators were so afraid that all the questions would be cracked! Thus, they started with very tough questions. However, club’s guests for whom this activity was completely new needed some time to understand how to play and how to approach questions. After a brief practice the game became more competitive. Different roles appeared in the team. Some people generated ideas and built hypothesis. Other teammates challenged them asking “why?” or “so what?” Other prefer to listen and connect the dots. Some players were more productive at the beginning of the discussion while others took up the baton for the second half. During two hours the group of 6 strangers became a team. And this transformation is a perfect reflexion of one of the main Club’s goal – learn how to be a team with fun.

We sure hope you are now feeling even more enthusiastic about joining us! And we are waiting for you after the summer break on our club page here on clubs.ie.edu or in Facebook.com/groups/iemindgames/!
