blablacarThe IE Entrepreneurship Club wants to thank all the other clubs for the collaboration on various events that were hosted this year. We kicked off the year with a new website  and promo video thanks to IE Hivezilla Business Design Club and we opened our events series with a workshop on “Social Media Marketing on a Shoestring Budget” in collaboration with the IE Marketing Club, when we taught entrepreneurs how to use Facebook as a marketing tool. Next on the agenda was “Startup Hubs of Europe – London, Berlin, Tel-Aviv”, when we provided information on the ecosystem to those who are interested in setting up their businesses and working for startups in these cities. A special thanks goes out to the IE Israel Club for this lecture and at last but not least, thanks to the IE France Club’s connections, we could host the country manager for Spain & Portugal of the successful startup; BlaBla car. We hope to continue the collaboration with other IE Clubs in the future. Thank you and please visit our Facebook Page.

IE Marketing Club Speaker Series

Written on April 10, 2014 by Campus Life in Professional

BBVA_4922The IE Marketing Club launched the Speaker Series on March 10 and 12, bringing in accomplished marketing professionals from the renowned market research firm, Ipsos, and Spanish multinational bank, BBVA, to discuss their experiences.

In the Club’s first event of 2014, Marina Navarro, Qualitative Market Research Director at Ipsos Spain, and her colleague, Jesus Caldeiro, Director of Client Services, offered their insights on best practices in qualitative market research. They not only shed light on the complexities of the discipline – with reference to focus groups, interviewing techniques, digital browsing, and digital panels – but also shared some of their more humorous experiences throughout their careers such as having to party late with youths to better understand a certain market segment. After the talk, the friendly conversation between several IE students and the two IPSOS_4902Ipsos guests continued over dinner at our neighborhood Chinese restaurant, Thong.

The star of the IE Marketing Club’s next guest in the Speaker Series was Bernardo Crespo, Head of Digital Marketing Lab at BBVA, who shared his deep knowledge on digital marketing in the banking sector. He discussed his work in social media strategy and the creation of the BBVA Game, the first digital banking platform based on the dynamics of gamification.
