The IE Entrepreneurship Club co-orgaznized IE Venture Day Madrid on 7th May, the school’s flagship start-up conference and competition for the first time in the event’s history. This collaboration will continue in the future and will be built into the club’s main activities. Thanks to IE Hivezilla Business Design Club viewers from around the world could follow the event live online and vote for their favourite start-ups on www.venturedaymadrid.com; and IE Electronic Music Club elevated the atmosphere with great tunes. Auditorium Rafael del Pino was full house again with more than 500 attendees and international investors/entrepreneurs, including keynote speakers Howard Lindzon, founder of Stocktwits.com, online communications platform and Martin Varsavsky, former IE & current Columbia University Professor, founder of billion euro businesses such as Jazztel, Fon and Ya.com.
IE Venture Day took its guest on a trip to start-up paradise from Hawaii through Tel Aviv to Mallorca and explored what these exotic locations offer and how they benefit tech businesses. Legendary surfboard designer, Dick Brewer from Hawaii revealed the secrets about his success as an entrepreneur and Chenoa Farnsworth, “Hawaii Angel” invited start-ups to apply to Blue Startups, the Honolulu based accelerator program. The educational theme dominated the top 2 winning start-ups of IE Venture Day. The 1st place went to Pupilum, an e-learning platform with accredited courses for healthcare professionals; the 2nd place as well as the popular vote went to Pentagrom that helps people learn written music more intuitively and the bronze medal was awarded to ChicPlace.com the unique online lifestyle store.
