globalvillage2014_800x450In the month of June IE’s Net Impact Club and Campus Life held Global Village 2014, a multicultural event attended by students from every continent, over 600 in total.

This year the event had stands representing 29 countries offering information on tourist destinations and cultural heritage, as well as gastronomic displays, and music and dance from Peru, Brazil, USA, Japan, India, and China.

“We held the first edition of IE Global Village in 2006, and it’s now the main cultural event at IE,” said Giedre Pavalkyte, Manager of Campus Life. “It’s aimed at celebrating the diversity of our student body and at giving them the opportunity to showcase the best of their traditions, music, dance and cuisine. At IE Global Village you can take a trip around the world in one afternoon, and there’s no doubt that it’s a very enriching experience for all those who take part.”

The funds raised by this year’s edition, some €12,100, will be used to fund the next Social Responsibility Forum, an international congress on CSR set to take place on November 21 and 22.
