2014 has been a busy year for IE Brazil Club. March was all about the now-famous Brazilian Party, in which over 300 students gathered to enjoy some of the best of Brazil’s beats, dance moves and snacks, all of which was of course washed down with a few caipirinhas.
With a fresh new batch of students arriving in April, the club started focusing on two major events, IE Global Village and the 2014 Fifa World Cup, hosted in Brazil. June 12th was a day to dive in the diversity the school is proud of, enjoying the food and culture of dozens of countries, and of course feijoada and açaí in the Brazilian booth (provided to over 100 people thanks to the remarkable effort of all Brazilian students, partners and even children!). That night, as a celebration party after Global Village, the Brazil Club and the Brazilian Embassy in Madrid invited all 600 students to watch the kick-off for the World Cup on big screens at the gardens of Casa do Brasil, a mansion owned by the Brazilian Government. With the help of cold beer and a lively crowd of 2,000 Brazilians who live in Madrid, we together celebrated the most popular ‘religions’ in Brazil: football and party. At the soundtrack of famous Brazilian band “Funk como le gusta”, it was a fantastic party to celebrate a great day. After the end of the World Cup, our successful prediction game (in which 6 students got prizes such as an iPad, an official Brazilian football jersey and a few bottles of cachaça) and our well-deserved summer break, the Brazil Club got together to eat some feijoada again (yes, we need this specific dish every other month… invariably!) and plan the second semester schedule, such as the all-day event for careers and companies “Brazilian Day”, and the legendary Brazilian Party (confirmed for the end of November) as a welcome party to our November intake students.
Since we are Latin-Americans and love being around people all the time, a Happy Hour with the BRIC clubs is already confirmed for October 23rd and another event with Mercosur countries (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay) is very close to being announced. Stay tuned for our events!
