GLOBAL VILLAGE – The Charm of India

The dawn of June 11, 2015 was different. There was a special feeling in the air; a feeling of diversity, excitement and energy. While all country clubs at IE started their day with the preparation to make an impactful presentation of their country’s culture and food, we as India Club coordinators were busy planning our presentations of dance performances, traditional dresses for all Indian attendees, local cuisine for all members of IE family and an experience of the Indian hospitality.

We organized the Global Village 2015 representing India Club at IE University. The event saw us dancing on the beats of Bollywood music and mesmerizing the crowd, making them dance with us. The songs and the dance performances were highly appreciated by all attendees of the Global Village. It was not just few members of the club who performed, but the coordinators rolled up their sleeves and stepped on stage to show how we move with music. Following the dance, came the food. We had arranged for the super delicacies prepared by the best Indian caterer in town. The food kept bringing audiences back to our stall and taste all different varieties we had to offer. No wonder, we were at the verge of exhausting our excessive food supply hours before the event was scheduled to get over.

We all from India Club were dressed in traditional Indian attire to give a glimpse of the Indian culture. The colorful combination of dresses and decors sparkled the Indian stall. We were able to present the true show of India along with all other country clubs making the Global Village a successful event of culture diversity and cross border unity.
