On May 29, we were honored to have two senior directors from Sotheby’s Spain,  the oldest and largest internationally recognized firm of fine art auctioneers in the world.

Aurora Zubillaga, one of the leading experts on 19th and 20th century Spanish paintings in Spain, and Alexandra Schader, who profound knowledge of the contemporary art market in Spain, and liaises with the Latin American Art and Prints Departments worldwide, gave a talk about what it’s like to work for one of the world’s top auction houses. The event was attended by more than 40 participants who actively interacted with the speakers. They asked questions covering a wide range of relevant topics such as art for charity, client relationship, auctioneers with emerging artists and legal issues related to art trading. The speakers were able to shed light on the inner workings of the art auction industry.
