On November 17th IE Excursions Club went to travel to the historic city of Salamanca with 35 students from the university ranging from students from the Master and Bachelor degrees to IE staff members!
We began the trip from Segovia where we picked up everybody on a bus that would later drive for around 2 hours to the city of Salamanca. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by our tour guide, Antonio, who is a local who just simply loves his city and enjoys sharing the history of it to everyone. This has been the 2nd time we have had him as our guide!
We had an insightful walk throughout the city’s most prominent monuments such as Casa de las Conchas, the University of Salamanca which is a beautiful piece of architecture with 800 years of history making it one of the oldest universities of Europe! We passed through Plaza Mayor and finished at the Cathedral and its ornamental facades.
Later on, as usual, we gave around 2-3 hours of free time to the students to have some lunch and to explore the city in their own account with their friends. We finished the trip by arriving back to Segovia later at night.
