Running Club presentation

Written on December 13, 2018 by Campus Life in Sports

“Most runners run not because they want to live longer, but because they want to live life to the fullest.” – Haruki Murakami
The IE Running Club is a social group for running enthusiasts for all programs of the IE University based in Madrid. The objective of the Club is to bring together people, with abilities ranging from amateurs to serious runners, and help build and grow this community.
The club operates with three different sets of events:

  • Regular Sunday runs – venues alternate between Retiro Park or Casa de Campo
  • Impromptu weekday runs – smaller runs/intervals at Parque Santander
  • Marathon events in Spain – we even have winners amongst us! (more on that in a separate, exclusive post)

The post-run time is also a great opportunity for different programs and intakes to meet each other and discuss the club activities, upcoming races as well as share personal stories of inspiration.

All events are posted on Campus Life, and the group uses WhatsApp as the primary form of communication and coordination. Keeping in touch with the times, all the events are loaded on the school’s Strava community, including the route to be followed.
There is also an active Instagram page, to give you all the right nudges and inspiration to get you moving!
Here’s to making 2019 a more active year for all 🙂
