The Future Is Not What It Used To Be

Written on March 8, 2019 by Campus Life in Professional

This week, the IE Cybersecurity Club had the pleasure of hosting Prosegur Cyber Intelligence Expert, Jose Maria Blanco Navarro to speak about the future of technology and the future cybersecurity risks we should consider as a society. Jose Maria also spoke of the implications technology is having on the distinction between virtual and reality. Another aspect of technology which is often disregarded, is the monitoring of our emotions, feelings and the monitoring of our beliefs. This monitoring leads algorithms to deduce which kind of answers one is looking for, instead of providing us with unbiased search results. Jose Maria concludes that technology not only is affecting our habits and our level of continuous connectivity but the ability for society to distinguish the truth from the false and the ability to make unbiased decisions.
