“Time and time again
Slaves we were then
Bound are we now
Ticking on tomorrow
Waiting on the pendulum”
– Goldie Nanwani
IE India Club Madrid Chapter had the pleasure to convene and participate in the launch of Goldie Nanwani’s book “Thoughts Translated” on the 3rd of December 2013. Goldie Nanwani is a woman of Indian origin, born and brought up in Spain, who has received her secondary and higher education in the United Kingdom. Her exposure to both the Indian and Western cultures has enabled her to spend many years understanding the differences between both.
During the event Goldie read some chosen excerpts of her book to the attendees that were themed around subjects which are deeply ingrained in our day to day lives, but we often forget to address them, due to our pressed urgency to fulfill our duties at work and other mundane activities which occupy our daily routine. This was followed by a Q&A round and Indian refreshments were made available to the attendees. This also provided an opportunity to network with the author. There was a book sale and signing during the networking to conclude the event.
This event was very well received and we hope to engage the Indian community outside of IE much more to bring such unique experiences and paradigms to the student experience at IE Business School.
