Another Year to Fight

Written on May 18, 2014 by Campus Life in Sports

IE Football Club will soon see some of its more senior members part ways after graduation. However, new blood will undoubtedly carry on with the tradition of success, competitiveness and sense of fellowship which make this Club so unique and beloved by the whole IE community.

It seems like yesterday when the previous management entrusted new students with this responsibility. Now it’s time to pass the torch. We, the graduating members are confident that the new managers will not only rise up to the challenge but will exceed our achievements.

We can only advise any one joining the Club to fight for every championship as if it were the last time you played. But most importantly, remember to have fun and make new friends.

IE Football Club at a glance

Written on December 10, 2013 by Campus Life in Sports

IML_9801Who are we?

IE Football Club is in charge of the IE Official Teams (both Men’s and Women’s) which participate in different tournaments, such as: Tackle Africa in London, Spring Games in Barcelona, MBA Tournament in Paris and IE GrassRoot Soccer Tournament in Madrid. We also organize an internal IE league (La L(IE)ga) with almost 20 teams (7 players per team). The objective is to make new friends thanks to our common passion, which is Football.

Club activities

We organize both local open-to-other-schools tournaments and the internal league (La L(IE)ga). The next season of La L(IE)ga will begin taking place after the Holiday Break, so begin forming your teams now and keeping an eye on the Facebook page for signup dates and information.

We also manage parties and events in order to raise some money for the club costs.

Lastly, we are in charge of organizing IE Grass RootSoccer Tournament in Madrid where the most important European business schools bring their teams to help Grassroot Soccer organization fight AIDS in Africa.

IE Men’s Team

The official IE Men’s Team will be holding tryouts on December 11th at 20:00h at Green Canal. Sign-up for tryouts is being held on the IE Football Club official page on Facebook. Another tryout will be organized if the demand is too great, so please keep an eye on the page to see if another date is needed. Tryouts are the only way to make the official IE Men’s Team, so please sign up and join!

IE Women’s Team

The IE Women’s Team welcomes players of ALL skill level (no experience needed!) to come out to practices and play with the team. The team has several coaches who attend practices and will work with players to improve their skills. The team is focused on having fun and getting to know each other through football! Information on upcoming practices can be found on the IE Women’s Football Team Facebook page, and usually they are held during the evenings (after classes). We also organize various events and parties, as well as participate in various tournaments throughout the year such as IESE Spring Games and MBAT (last year we got 2nd place!). We look forward to seeing you all on the pitch at Green Canal for the next practice!

la-foto1okGet in touch and participate!

Anyone who is interested in joining the club or obtaining more information can contact us by email. Students who are interested in collaborating, can do so by attending our events and supporting the team. The IE Football Club coordinators were present at the Club Fair on December 9th and thanks to all of you who stopped by to learn more about the activities of the club!

The best way to get more information on upcoming activities and events for the club and both teams is to join the official Facebook Groups. These are: “IE Football Club”, “IE Women’s Football Team” and “IE Futbol 2012-2013”.
