IE Spain Club Recap

Written on December 17, 2018 by Campus Life in Social

IE Spain Club was founded in April 2018 by two IMBA students, Javi Concejo and Carola Gironés. The club has participated in many school activities throughout the year. The first one was the Global Village, where we set up a stand with typical and delicious Spanish food from Extremadura. The government of Extremadura kindly sponsored the event and made all the food available to IE Students. In the Global Village, two IMBA students performed a traditional Spanish fencing exhibition as part of the show of the Global Village.

In September, the club organized a welcome dinner for the IMBA students of September Intake. That was a great opportunity for the IMBA students from January to meet the new students from September and give them advice on the year ahead. The Spanish network in IE strengthens in every event like this.

In October the club organized a Capea, the highlight of the year. This event was open to all IE School and students from MIM, IMBA, Masters, and Bachelors attended the event. We took a bus from the school that brought us to the countryside of Madrid, where we had the chance to run with Calves, play games, eat lunch and enjoy an open bar all day.

Later in October the club organized the Halloween Party in Moondance Club. Students from all programs attended and we had the best time with our costumes. The club prepared a surprise show with 2 IMBA students singing on stage, and a Photo Booth with 2Photographers.

The IE Spain Club started its first year with a variety of activities and is looking forward to coming even stronger next year with more activities for all students at IE
