The IE Charity Club celebrated International Down Syndrome Day on the 21st of March by hosting a bake sale on campus to raise funds for the Fundación Reina de Quito, a non-profit organization that has a center in which 150 poor children with Down Syndrome receive daily therapy and additional aid for their families. We were successful and we were able to raise approximately €300 which were punctually used to purchase educational material for the children on March 30 of this same year. We received great support from Do Eat as they donated various croissants, breads and goodies that we sold at our bake sale. To raise awareness and respect for this special day we collected pictures of our community members holding a sign which read “Mi Dia Va Por Ti”, translated to “My Day goes for you” to support the foundation’s social media awareness campaign which occurs every 21st of March. We want to thank the entire community for their support in this event, like in all of the events that the IE Charity Club held during the year!
